I think American Idol is really cool. It's like anyone can be on it. Car dealers, Oil rig dude, students and just really anyone from all walks of life. And you can really see their passion for singing and they're really damn good.
Next week is the hometown visit! I love that part haha. They get to see all their fans and go back to their hometown for a visit. It's really amazing to see how cute little kids, old folks and everyone support you. Sho kewl!

Labour day was really awesome.

Best labour day hands down (partially coz I forgot how I spent my previous labour days)

So anyway, Ping pong with the granny in the morning. I ttly suck at it so it got damn sian, coz half the time we were chasing the ping pong ball. Well, exercise at least :)

Then later went for CG. Macs first then to some weird roof top where it was blazing hot. Haha. Dodge ball, charades and a lot a lot a lot of sharing. Testimony was so long too. Guess we had so much to thank god for, hehe. Really got to know everyone better and all.

Got home had this sudden urge to cycle. So I did around the condo then decided to cycle to MG. I really miss MG so much. 6 years of my life after all, miss soph, carol, glenda and all my other friends, the warmth and craziness, all the silly stuff we did (Zenny Henny Fan Club, 'rock' climbing, playing with Wally Kuala Hong and Bao through our lessons in P6). Every corner holds a memory that's really close to my heart. I'm scared when I grow old, I'll like forget them or something. Saddest thing ever ): So anyway, continued cycling one big round before going home nice and sweaty.

I love cycling except the part where my bike screwed up and I rammed into something and got scratched. That aside, I love cycling. I love the breeze and haha I think cycling is cute and childish and fun. I'm going to cycle moreeeeeeeeee :D

I cried twice in school yesterday

First one was watching the Joel video thing. I think it was really touching la. He's so amzing and contented with whatever he had. 8) Can learn so much from him la :B

Second was because of my dumb notebook that was confiscated during LA lecture -____- I didn't pass it around la, only to Jing Mei who was beside me and all. I iz innoshun ): Anyway have to write a 400 word essay on Evils of Distractions to get it back ._. sianz ttm. Anyway I'm over it. Haha can't believe I cried, actually I don't really know why (maybe coz they were mean. ahha) but for a few seconds then I started laughing at myself and how horrible I looked. I'm sucha loooozer la.
Nevermind, I'm lookin' at it from an optimistic pov 8) I can improve my essay writing skills and I know that my mates care. -sings 'Love makes the world go round' song- (it's by PPG fyi)

We the bomb!
I just want to say that I was really satisfied for this SYF. Incredibly satisfied, I swear.
Yes we got silver, but honestly does that really matter?
I think not. We have put in so much effort for SYF. We practised so hard, did lots of PT and had so much fun preparing for this day.
As the days drew closer, I can remember getting more and more excited because the day we had been practising so hard for had come.
I mean, sure. Practices were tough. Sometimes they were kick ass but the next one could suck and it was quite a roller coaster ride for us. We had our highs and our lows, but I think there were always more highs because of the people in the same roller coaster carts as we were in, cheering each other on. :)
I really enjoyed today so much. I'm really touched by all the cards and all the jiayous in sms and in person and all. You guys made me feel so encouraged. Love all of you to death.
Anyway, the atmosphere was really amzing today. Everyone was so hyped up and excited. Reminds me of 2nd competition in Vienna. We knew we could do it, we were so confident la.

Fast forward to VCH. I think we did good for our songs esp Kyrie. It sounded really nice and you know what? I really really really enjoyed myself. I sang my heart out, gave it my all and left the stage with no regrets and nothing but pure satisfaction. The best feeling ever I swear. Ms Tham seemed satisfied and happy that we were happy. I was so happy I was going to cry and I thought I was the only moron who felt that way. But no. Pouring of tears because we were so happy that we finally did it and sounded real good. That moment was priceless.

The camwhored and waited one hour for announcement of results. Ms Lin said we were fantastic and the best that she had ever heard our choir. Year ones said we sounded really really good. We were literally holding our breaths and waiting for the announcer to say gold/gwh. When we heard silver, I guess our hearts dropped/sank/stopped beating. Wtv, I think you got it. There was this moment of silence as we stood in front of the tv like retards.

Then disappointment started to settle in. People started crying and all, but I knew we were not a silver choir. No way hosea. I didn't cry because I think SYF doesn't give an accurate judgment of how good a choir is. A choir can be a GWH choir but not a good choir. One thing for sure is, We are a hell good choir :D We have improved so tremendously since the time I stepped in. Biggest improvement being this year. We really changed and i think the TICs and Ms Tham can see that. That's what counts. Ms Lin also said that we deserved a gold. WOWZZZAH!

SYF has also let me realize how much choral singing is to each and every one of us. How we want this GWH so badly because we want to show others and ourselves that we are good and not lousy. I was really touched when I saw the girls and esp the guys crying. Won't say names but I think that really showed me how much this meant to each and every one of us. Year 1s to Year 4s cried and I can safely tell you 90% of us did.

Tomorrow is a totally different day. We will celebrate our silver and have so much fun together as one choir. We'll go crazy high and all. I sooooo can't waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiit!!

Let me summarise my past few days :D

Social Etiquette was kind of lame and a waste of money. Mr Monte was kind of queer but quite entertaining lor. Then went Parkway with Cherv and Yiling.

Xpedition was torturous. Damn hot & damn far. Stupid Wilson. 3G3 was pretty fun though :) haha

Today, had CCA Orientation! Which was damn retarded!
Singing the same songs over and over again is like damn sian can?
Year ones were pretty cute though. Haha.
OMG, at the end we were like freaking retarded. We were like lying on the floor in the dark and we were supposed to do some retarded robot dance. There was being mummies too. Oh and the weird bow-your-head-and-suddenly-scream-hysterically-waving-your-hands-like-you-are-mad.

OCdyssey

Church camp was very FUN but I'm lazy to go into detail.
So, here goes...

Day 1
I was in Argos (Lala, E Jin, Gabriel, Elliot, Shane, Lexy, Ashley, Cheryl, me)+ Ben and Asher
Exodus Race was very tiring; walking from one end to the other.
Cooking maggi mee, building sand castles etc.
Group discussion was kinda fun cos we laughed a lot (:
Day 2
Woke up with Sean's siren thing blaring non-stop, kind of annoying ):< Captain's ball with water balloonz. They kept bursting!
Someone threw one to me. Then Daniel stuck his hand out and the whole water balloon burst in my face ):
Poor Yihui fell off the chair and had a minor fracture D:
Then had some mummy competition which was quite fun!
Lexy was our mummy and we were like protecting and attacking! Soopah fun!
The wet T-shirt one was not fun ): it was so troublesome!
Big group of us playing murderer at night! haha (:
Day 3 + 4
Woke up damn early at 6 for the baptism where Kakit, Colin, Yihui (who wasnm't rly baptised), Ernest and forgot-who got baptised.
Had some game where we had to build a roller coaster out of straws for ping pongs.
Ours ownz ass big time (: It was super cool!
Went back to the room and talked and laughed. Haha, the people in my bunk are damn funny lah
Then, had barbeque. Marshmellowz rock! Love them like mad, went high eating them.
Then, gala night games which didn't really take part in cos Rach, Lexy and I were talking most of the time.
Ooooh, then gabriel aka gabriella had to dress up as a baby and he won! He was so cute and blur lah and he didn't know how to catwalk and all. I love his dimples and rosy cheeks btw, they're so kuuuuute!
Then worship was the bestbestbest. Everyone was like jumping and like I really felt God's presence. I was really touched it was just such an amazing feeling to truly worship God wholeheartedly and all. I wish every worship could be like that ):
After that, played cards until about 1+ am. Then joined the captain's ball till like 4/5+am.
Played bridge and taiti with Amelia, Daryl and Nico with some others hanging around til around 7am then went to sleep.
Woke up at 10+am @____@
Packed, had breakfast and headed back to MG.
Damn exhausted lah but overall really fun :D :D
I'm glad that I went :)

It was at the tunnel thing.
The busker suddenly stood in the middle and opened his legs real wide (like he wanted to do a split). Then (Oh! He was playing the guitar) the leaned backwards and flashed a se bei bei smile damn freaky. So I walked aside the avoid him the he suddenly went to the side and I thought he was going to block me.
Freaky much!
Then after that the 5 of us laughed like mad for super long!
And we realised a bird shat on Zhiting's shirt and she was ultra-omega paranoid the whole time!

Sleepover was FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN !!!

Cherv and I arrived first and then we camwhored with bunny + polar bear + shrek hairbands :D
At around 5pm, Xinyi came!
Went to the playground to play taiti and then play!
Poor Xinyi banged her head super hard on the metal monkey bars ):

Ting yu came at 7pm and we ordered Pizza Hut (:

After dinner, we played hide and seek

VIENNA

A city of wonder ♥

I don't really know where to start but here goes:
Vienna has been such a great great trip. I've learnt so much which I probably would never have learnt if I hadn't gone for this trip.
I used to wish I didn't go because practices were very long + tiring and i felt that my holidays were being wasted preparing for this trip.
Now, I definitely think it's all worthwhile.
• Taking part in the 25th International Franz-Schubert Choral Competition
• Competing against worthy + very good choirs
• Bonding with juniors + year 2s + seniors
• Hearing how good other choirs are
• Making friends with other choirs :D
• Shopping
• Visiting Vienna itself
• Laughing and going crazy (:
• and many many other valuable lessons like how last-minute we are and all.

Thank you so much to the people who made this trip so awesome and memorable.
Love you guys infinitely.

I really hope that what we have learnt during this trip, we will carry out during all choir practices. If not, we would have wasted all our money and all.
If we do execute what we have learnt, I know we can get a GWH because I know each and every one of us has the potential.
All we need, is to give our best

DAY ONE

Arrived in Vienna and stayed at Mercure Wien Westbahnhof (:
Practice in the garage was hilarious!!
We ran whenver a car was coming for us :D

DAY TWO

PT at the garage, the air was so dry that our throats hurt ):
Competition (Category S) at Minoritenkirche.
We didn't sound very good and all but it was a beautiful place.
we got Silver 7
Opening ceremony @ Votivkirche.
The prettiest prettist church that i have ever seen.
It was so grand: th chandeliers, stained glass, high arches.
We sounded way horrible compared to all the other choirs ):
I'm not going to make any excuses for ourselves.

DAY THREE

Competition (Category G) at Konzerthaus Schubertsaal
Everyone was definitely more pumped
The excitement, confidence, readiness- totally different from the energy the day before
We messed up Zhong Ma but then we recovered.
The songs sounded much better and I was super proud and happy for choir.
We got Silver 10
Watched some cool street dancers too during lunch + patronized Claire's! (a girl's best friend, I swear)+ many other shops (:

DAY 4

(Choir from Estonia)
Went to Schronburnn Palace. One word: Beautiful.
Pretty interior, enchanting chandeliers, smashing garden, it was so pretty!
Took lots of snapshots.
Then we went for the Prize Ceremony and then the Farewell dinner.
Farewell dinner totally owned ass.
Sat with my usual crazy bunch of people.
Stupid wilson dropped something in my drink i remember ):< color="#33cc00">Estonian and 'Johnny said No' choir!
There were so nice and friendly and warm (esp. the Estonian choir aka chiobu choir!)
Made many many new friends like: Ingrit, nataly etc.
They're all so pretty and mature looking.
Then we sang for each other.
Their voices are beautiful without even warming up 8D
I really didn't want to leave because they're such amazing people <3

DAY 5

Transferred to EventHotel Pyramide then went shopping with Audrey, Shir and Elaine at SCS (Europe's largest mall)
Didn't buy much though, only more accessories and some chocolate (:

DAY 6
Went to Vienna woods in some weird cave thingy.

It was really cool :D
Then went to house of music!
We are one crazy bunch of people. Dancing in a room with funky music!
Played cards in wilson and clement's room with yunqi, claire and audrey after curfew until like around 2am :D
We went seriously high on chocolates.
When we went back to our rooms talked to audrey about roller blading at sarah's last time. Yiting, ruowei and wilson got injured. super funny. We were like going high laughing and recalling. We're sadists, hahaha.

DAY 7
Went to some nice park and all with some weird guy (I forgot his name)
Went to the airport and then played cards and watched movies on planes.
Then, back in Singapore ):

I'm truly sorry for the lack of pictures.
Most are with audrey and other people and I'm partially lazy to put in pictures too. hehe

Had lots of fun with my lovebugs (minus sha and crystal)
Monkey-ed around and then suddenly Nicole's maid screamed:" ____ die!"
I heard cockroach at first then nicole went to take a look. She screamed super loud then i thought the air con service man died!
Turns out is was a freaking 1.5m monitor lizard. So we called the police (:
They were super funny! We swopped their shoes so they were standing at Nicole's doorsteps trying to figure out (for very long) which shoe belonged to them.

Church today was pretty emotional.
I feel that you know lyrics in Christian songs are like really amazing and powerful.
When you just sing it, you might not really feel it but when you think about it, it makes a lot of sense and is so true. :D
Daren showed us this video which is like a modern adaptation of the god letting jesus die on the cross for our sins. It was really sad cos it was this father who had only one son and no wife. Fast-forward, the dad works as some bridge operator thing. So a boat was coming so he had to raise the bridge but the trainn was coming too. The son saw and tried to tell him but he didn't hear. So the son tried to lower the bridge for the train but fell into the hole. The father was super distressed because if he pulled the lever to lower the bridge, he would kill his own son. In the end, he sacrificed his one and only son to save the lives of many. What made it worse was that the people on the train were completely oblivious to the fact that the father gave up his son's life to save them.

I think I like often take Jesus dying on the cross for granted. I never thought of how hard it was for God to sacrifice his son for our salvation. When I saw the agony painted on the father's (in the movie) face, I realised how hard it is to give up someone you love so deeply to save others who aren't even grateful.

Donald Braswell and Kyle Rifkin are pretty damn good.
Donald Braswell is quite inspiring.
He lost his speaking voice 11 years ago but he came back on America's Got Talent and rocked.
He sang 'You Raise Me Up'. The audience boo-ed at first then all cheered because he was amazing :D

As for Kyle, I think this show brought him and his family together and all.
Very emotional and the host guy even like shed a tear.
It was heart-warming and like the whole audience was cheering on their feet.
Another fantastic singer.

I like America's Got Talent.
